Settling Into The New Online Digs
Dec. 6th, 2018 05:54 pmThis is the reason I'm here: https://dw-news.dreamwidth.org/38929.html
This account is barebones at the moment, theme and customizations subject to change as I settle into the new digs. I've had a fan account here before that I may well resurrect for fandom purposes, which means the siren call of tweaking a DW theme calleth. Also, icon editing... when I hadn't mastered screenshots the last time. Wheehee, this could take a long and delightful while.
Serious nonfiction and selected bits of the Tumblr archive will be at https://appalachianace.wordpress.com/ I may end up putting together some sort of most important posts list here once I get everything dealt with, but that's four plus years of web history to wade and it's December.
...
I've thought for a while that the asexual community needed to fork the serious talk and the socialization into different sites with different structures, particularly with what's been going on the past few years on Tumblr. Part of the issue has been trying to have 'everyone should be able to read this' serious talk and 'this is full of in-jokes' social chatter in the same place, and then having the chatter used to discount the serious talk.
And now it's clear 'with different owners' should have been included in those thoughts.
